Broken Heart

Filed under: Uncategorized — misstellez @ 12:35 pm

Since this novel is written in different points of view, we as readers get to see Cynthia Ann’s situation through a few different sets of eyes.  Carolyn Meyer shows us how Cynthia Ann felt upon her return to her white family.  She also shares how Cynthia’s white family feels having her back home.  Each person’s views are based on the experiences one has gone through.  As you read, select one fact and one opinion from the book.  Defend your choices with a sentence describing why you feel each statement is either a fact or an opinion.

Great New Books!

Filed under: Uncategorized — misstellez @ 7:03 pm

Hi everybody!

I just got done reading one of the books from the Lee book fair, and it was absolutely wonderful!  Mrs. Berumen actually recommended the book to me, and boy was she ever correct!  The book is called Found and it’s by Margaret Peterson Haddix.  The book is a suspenseful mystery about strange happenings that occur between two friends:  Jonah and Chip.  First they receive mysterious letters in the mail.  Then, they find out they have a common bond.  It’s a LONG book (300+pages), but it was so good, I couldn’t put it down!  Do you have any books like that?  Are there any books that you have read recently that you just couldn’t seem to stop?  I would love to know your recommendations!

Thanks for reading,

Miss Tellez
